Congratulations to our U11 BSME team on winning silver overall at Kings Al Barsha Dubai. Our talented team of 26 athletes from Year 5 and 6 showed sheer grit and determination over three days of athletics, swimming, football, netball and basketball (and had a lot of fun along the way!).
Competition was rife with sixteen top international schools taking part from Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait and Egypt. The games kicked off with athletics and swimming. Our talented team put on strong individual performances, achieving a high medal tally across track and field and in the pool, and won silver overall in both athletics and swimming.
Day two saw the girls on the football field and the boys battling it out on the basketball court. Competition was tough, our teams worked hard and won bronze in football and 5th place in basketball.
Tired but determined, day 3 dawned and it was the boy’s turn for football and the girls took to the netball court. Our strong teams achieved gold in football after a nail-biting final against DESS and 6th place in netball.
As evening fell, our teams, parents and coaches headed to the stunning Dubai Polo Club for the Award Dinner and disco. After such a tense countdown, our BSME U11 champions achieved silver overall - an impressive feat out of 16 schools from across the Middle East. Congratulations to all our athletes and a big thank you to our amazing BSAK staff and parents.
