Thanks to our Modern Foreign Languages Department for organising a superb evening of European culture showcasing our talented students and staff in dance and song, accompanied by delicious European fare and music.
As guests gathered in the foyer, they enjoyed food platters from The Club whilst listening to live music from our students and the Vox Livens soprano ensemble before moving into the theatre for the main show. Year 7 flanked the stairs to the theatre and set the scene in style, with a rousing number from Les Misérables.
The wide variety of student acts included our accomplished musicians, fresh from the Young Musician of the Gulf competition, a colourful Spanish / Mediterranean dance, Ca Plane Pour Moi, fabulous year 10 and Sixth Form groups, the staff choir and the Desert Roses vintage vocal trio. All acts were introduced on stage by our students, showcasing their language skills from French to Greek and Polish.
Our very own Irish Dancers put on an impressive performance and encouraged Head of Secondary Teresa Woulfe to join them on stage, which she dutifully did, bringing back fond memories of distant dance lessons.
