The ADYM Competition came to a spectacular conclusion last night when 9 finalists in the advanced and intermediate categories, competed for the title of Abu Dhabi Young Musician.
Out of 190 competitors across 30 schools and academies, our finalists were all winners of their individual events. Rock n Pop singing, electric guitar and drums, brass, piano, strings, classical guitar, singing and woodwind. We were incredibly proud that 6 BSAK students made it to the final, where the audience were treated to an outstanding standard of play.
BSAK students in the Advanced Final included Emma in Brass, Hanlei in Piano, Kenodh in Classical Guitar and Kirstie in Woodwind. In the Intermediate Final we had Adam in Rock n Pop drums, and Raphael in Woodwind. Each competitor performed 3 pieces, to showcase their talent and versatility, giving the adjudicators an incredibly hard job to choose the winner. After an intense and hard fought battle the judges announced the first ever Abu Dhabi Young Musician 2022, as Yuexuan from Brighton College (advanced strings).
Congratulations to Yuexuan, you were amazing! Congratulations also to everyone who took part in this exceptional competition; to Rob Hall, Head of Music at BSAK and the BSAK Music Department and support team, for their hard work and organisation of the event. A very big thank you also to all participating School music departments, academies, students and parents across Abu Dhabi.
We look forward to seeing you again next year.
