PRESERVING GOLDEN MEMORIES

As our academic term drew to a close, so too did our Golden Anniversary celebrations; which ended
conclusively in Abu Dhabi with a visit from the British Ambassador, Patrick Moody, and H.E Younis Al
Khoori, and the unveiling of a golden time capsule.

For those who passed through the Primary reception at the end of the term, it was hard to miss our
unique golden artifact, ingeniously and visibly encased in the wall. The capsule itself holds USB
sticks, loaded with photos, videos, and memories of staff, students, parents and alumni, and a cavity
below the capsule holds hard copies of the information, our 50th Anniversary Book and The National
newspaper.

Reading, compiling and curating the entries, photos and videos was a very moving task and it was
wonderful to see so many happy memories of the School. We also included all of the contributions
sent in by our alumni for the 50th Anniversary book, as well as the best of our more recent
photography of the School and students. Finding early photos of School life for our anniversary book
was not a simple task, especially from the Corniche campus in the 60s and 70s. We hope that we
have made this a little easier for our future generations, should they decide to write another book or
create a new time capsule in 50 years’ time!
