I'm originally from England, spending most of my early life around London before I began my adventure overseas. I studied History at Oxford University in University College and had the benefit of also being taught by some excellent professors at a range of different colleges. I then studied my PGCE with the Institute of Education at UCL, London.
Before BSAK I worked at Dubai College for four years, after initially starting my teaching career as a Teach First teacher in London.
I actually started my professional life outside of education as a marketing consultant, whilst at the same time volunteering as a Special Constable for the London Metropolitan Police. I then spent a year as an executive search headhunter before moving into teaching. It's a pretty varied early career, but I am absolutely in love with teaching now.
I've got a wide range of interests and hobbies. I've played guitar for over a decade now, even going on to embarrass myself at a few open mic nights whilst I lived in London. I got into martial arts from an early age, starting off with Judo but also adding on Sul-Ki-Do, MMA and boxing along the way. I've always had a passion for reading and have dabbled at writing too, though always just for fun.
