This weekend saw BSAK participate for the first time in the BSME U11 Football Tournament hosted by St Christopher’s School, Bahrain.
Girls and Boys would take part in football tournaments on Friday and Saturday respectively.
The girls were up first on Friday and started the tournament well, winning 3 games and drawing 1. After 4 games they progressed to the semi-final where they would meet the hosts, St Chris. In a tight game the girls, unfortunately, lost 2-0 but had pushed the eventual champions close and could leave the field with their heads held high. Fresh from semi-final defeat the girls rallied themselves immediately and took on DESS in a 3rd place playoff. Against tough opposition, the girls played fantastically and when awarded a penalty Alex Al-Qaq stepped up to give BSAK the lead. The girls defended their lead and went on to secure the 3rd place finish. It was a wonderful day of football enjoyed by players, coaches and parents alike. Although battered, bruised and exhausted by the end, the girls performed brilliantly throughout the day and were a credit to themselves, their family and their School.
