Our fortunate Year 13 Chemistry students visited the Petroleum Institute this week, where they had the fantastic opportunity to experience hands on practical lab testing and techniques.  A highlight was creating an ester, (a chemical compound derived from an acid for the non-chemists) which gave a wonderful banana smell!
