Congratulations to the following students on their achievements in the 2016 British Biology Olympiad. This competition is organised by the Royal Society of Biology and over 5000 students across the world competed this year. Both Serene Messai and Ziad Ibbini scored in the top 10%, attaining Silver medals and Maria Lovin scored in the top 15%. Her Bronze medal is a wonderful achievement for a Year 12 student, considering that the competition is designed for Year 13 A-level Biologists. Congratulations must also extend to Siobhan Ali, Faizan Qureshi and Neel Lachhwani, who were all awarded commended certificates for their efforts.
Biology Challenge
Congratulations to all the students listed below on their achievements in the 2016 Biology Challenge. This competition is organised by the Royal Society of Biology and designed for Year 9 and 10 biology students. 100% of the BSAK students that competed earned awards that ranged from Gold standard to commendations. Please see the list below. Special mention must extend to Andrew El Kadi who was our top performer and only student to attain the gold standard. Furthermore, Karthik Raghu and Hani Kampoori attained Silver Awards whilst still in Year 9 - a tremendous achievement considering they will have an opportunity to enter again next year. This is the third year that BSAK has entered this annual competition and each student did themselves and the school proud.
